Code of the Tribes

  1. Defend your Tribe, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Tribes, but your loyalty must remain to your Tribe, as one day you may meet them in battle.
  2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Tribe's territory.
  3. Elders, Queens and kits must be fed before apprentices, warriors and scouts. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens and kits are eating.
  4. Every life is sacred, prey should be thanked for its borrowed life and wished a safe journey to it's resting place.
  5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
  6. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
  7. The deputy will become Tribe leader when the leader dies or retires.
  8. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
  9. A gathering of all three Tribes is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Tribes at this time.
  10. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
  11. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
  12. The word of the Tribe leader is the warrior code.
  13. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
  14. Cats on their way  to the gathering are allowed to cross other Tribe's territories to get there.
  15. Shamans are to be respected by all and are not allowed to be attacked.
  16. Anyone is free to have a mate and kits with the exception of a tribes Shaman. In order for a leader to have kits, they must have an able bodied deputy be able to take their duties during that time and vice versa.
  17. A young she-cat or tom made an apprentice is to learn all they can from the cats in their chosen group and should follow their every advice and command.


  • Leader- Leader of the tribe. Help keep things organized, over see the other members and decide important decisions.
  • Deputy- Second in command to the leader.
  • Shaman- Healer and spiritual guider for the tribe. Knows a lot about healing and can also communicate with the ancestors and guardians. Able to read signs from the weather, rocks and other things. Only one in the tribe to have that bond to the spiritual world, only one.
  • Brigadier- The head warrior. Helps organize and train the warriors. Equal rank status to the Clande.
  • Clande- The head scout. Like the Brigadier, organizes and trains the scouts.
  • Warriors- The strong ones in the tribe who defend the pack and are great at fighting. Same rank status as Scouts.
  • Scouts- Stealthy, and fast on their feet. scouts are for delivering messages, patrolling the borders and doing other secretive missions.
  • Apprentices- Young ones in the tribe, who are training in whatever they want their life path to be. Usually from 6 to 12 moons.
  • Queens- She-cats who are pregnant or nursing kits.
  • Kits- The young offspring of the tribe, not allowed out of camp until apprenticed.
  • Elders- The elderly cats in the tribe who are unable to fight or continue on with their duties. Can also be due to disabilities like blindness, severe injuries, etc..

    Different ceremonies for the tribe. Becoming a Shaman has none, and is simply given by a dream.

    Making a Warrior/Scout-

    Leader: The tribe has watched you grow and our ancestors are pleased with your progress along your journey. _________ is _______ ready to follow the path of a (warrior/scout).

    Brigadier/Clande: Yes, he/she is.

    Leader: ______, do you promise to follow the tribes teachings loyally and defend your tribe-mates. Even if it possibly endangers or costs your life?

    Apprentice: I promise.

    Leader: Your fellow tribe-mates and the Guardians welcome you, NEWNAME, into the ranks of the tribe. The _____ are proud to have you as a full fledged (warrior/scout).

    Making a Apprentice-

    Leader: Growing up is one of the biggest parts of one's life. Some cats take a lifetime to grow up. This will be ______'s first step into his/her journey. May you learn well during this time and find the path you wish to tread in this life. It is to my pleasure and as the Guardians as my witness to welcome NEWNAME as an apprentice in the tribe.




    Turning to Elder-


    Leader: You have served your tribe-mates for many seasons with your loyalty. Is it your wish, ________, to become an Elder?

    New Elder: It is.

    Leader: Then by the Guardians and our ancestors, may you have many seasons of rest and comfort.


    Making a Clande/Brigadier-

    Leader: ___, you've proven to be swift/strong and wise. (previous Clande/Brigadier) has taught you well in the ways of a scout/warrior and the Guardians are happy with his/her decision. (Previous Clande/Brigadier), is it truly your wish to give this rank to ____?

    Previous Clande/Brigadier: Yes, it is.

    Leader: (previous Clande), you have served us well and passed on all of your knowledge and skill to those before you. May you have many seasons of rest. Welcome _____, your clan welcomes you as the new Brigadier/Clande.
